The SIV and authorisation: what we're talking about
The SIV — Système d'Immatriculation des Véhicules — is the national register that has handled vehicle registration in France since 2009. It issues registration certificates (what used to be called the carte grise) and holds the administrative history of every vehicle.
To carry out these formalities on your customers' behalf, a motor trade business must hold both an habilitation and an agrément: the first opens access to the SIV, the second allows you to collect and pass on the taxes tied to registration. Without them, every formality goes through a public counter or an intermediary — time lost on every sale.
Once authorised, you become a single point of contact for your customer: they leave with a registered vehicle, without queueing at a public office or on a third-party website.

Do I need SIV authorisation to handle registrations?+
Yes. The habilitation opens access to the SIV and the agrément allows you to handle registration taxes. Cleclic works from your own authorisations to carry out the formalities inside the software.
How long do I have to declare a purchase?+
